Annual Report

ALOHA FROM THE CHAIR

We are proud to share our 2024-2025 annual report, highlighting our progress in improving the health of our community.

This report covers:

  • The 30th anniversary of the UH JABSOM Family Medicine Residency Program, which has produced over 180 family physicians, most of whom practice in Hawaiʻi.
  • The development of a second accredited Family Medicine Residency Program on Kauaʻi.
  • The launch of the Waipahu High School Academic Health Center, a collaboration with Hawaiʻi Pacific Health.
  • New faculty additions and strengthened community outreach for the Oʻahu Residency program.
  • Expanded partnerships and capacity-building work for our Pacific Cancer Programs.

These achievements are a result of strong partnerships, the dedication of our faculty, and the support of community physicians who volunteer their time to supervise our residents.

We remain committed to our mission: to create the future primary care workforce for Hawaiʻi and the greater Pacific.

With gratitude to each of you who have supported us along the way,

Allen L. Hixon, MD, FAAFP
